Port of Tacoma Pier 4 Redevelopment
Part of the larger Port of Tacoma Pier 4 Redevelopment and Expansion involved aligning with neighboring Pier 3 to create one contiguous 2,960-foot long pier structure. The redesigned pier is now capable of simultaneously berthing two ultra-large container ships and received 100-gauge cranes needed for larger vessels. The Pier 4 Marine Operations building replaced an existing operations building and provides additional capacity for Longshoremen and Superintendents during the loading and offloading of container ships.
