Downing Elementary School

Sited amongst a busy campus shared by a Boys & Girls Club, police station, and public park, Downing is comprised of a fully-renovated 25,000sf former community center, further expanded by a 25,000 sf, two-story library/classroom wing.

Safe logistics—during construction and beyond—informed the layout of the building and configuration of major program spaces. PDB (progressive design-build) delivery, in partnership with Korsmo Construction, facilitated proactive resolution of this and other site-specific challenges.
